About Me

Hello, I’m Sinéad - a mother of two living in Kilkenny, and a postpartum doula with a deep passion for supporting families through the tender, transformative weeks after birth.

My journey into this work began with the birth of my first child in 2020. Just one month after he was born, the world shut down. The support I had expected from friends and family vanished overnight, and I found myself navigating sleep, feeding, and recovery in isolation. In the haze of sleep deprivation and self-doubt, I lost touch with my own intuition. I turned to books, social media, and other people’s opinions, hoping to find the answers I needed.

When my second baby arrived, I had more support around me - but I still struggled to trust myself. I kept looking outward instead of inward, unsure of what my baby or I truly needed.

Looking back, I realise what would have helped me most during both postpartum experiences: someone to gently guide me through evidence-based information around feeding and sleep, someone to care for my baby while I rested, and most of all, someone to support me - emotionally, practically, and without judgment. At the time, I didn’t even know what a postpartum doula was. I just knew I needed help. I wish I had known then what I know now.

As your postpartum doula, my role is first and foremost to listen - to you, your needs, and your family’s unique rhythm. The early days after birth are raw, real, and full of change. You don’t have to navigate them alone.

I bring a calm, grounded presence into your home. I'm here to nurture and empower you with compassionate care, emotional support, and practical, hands-on help - whether that means holding your baby while you shower or sleep, preparing nourishing meals, or offering guidance rooted in evidence, not overwhelm. Most of all, I’m here to hold space for you - to see you, hear you, and walk beside you during this powerful transition into parenthood.

I’d be honoured to support you during this special time.
